Prepare Construction Site

The first step to building your home is to prepare a site where you want to build your home. In the site clearance, you must prepare your site, free from debris, trees, and other waste. After that, you need to install the footing on which the whole structure of your home is founded. The footing serves as the ground support system to prevent it from sinking.

If the foundation of your house is on slab grade, you need to dig the footing, pour it, and then make it more stable. Hence, you must prepare the site for constructing your home in this step.

Complete Rough Framing

The next step in building your home is to complete the rough framing. You have to complete the rough framing such as wall frames, floor, and roof frame system. After the completion of the framing, you need to use the sheathing to apply on the exterior and interior walls of your home.

The sheathing is then covered with a protective layer to prevent water infiltration in your home’s structure. It serves as the house wrap so water cannot infiltrate your house.

Complete Plumbing and Electrical

After the completion of the framing, you need to work on the plumbing and electrical system in your new house. In this step, you must install the HVAC system, including the electrical, ventilation, plumbing, and heating system. During this stage, the proper installation of the pipe wires and electrical wires in the walls and under the floor is required to install.

After the piping, your electrician must install the receptacles, lights, and switches. In this stage, you must also install the wiring for the music system, cable tv, and other internet networks.

Install Insulation

After the HVAC installation, the next step is to install the insulation in your home. Installing insulation will help maintain the inner temperature of your home while maintaining the energy efficiency inside your home. The thermal property is one of the most important insulation qualities, meaning the material will resist heat transfer.

The most common type of insulation you can use in your home is fiberglass, cellulose, and foam. The insulation used in your home depends on the temperature of the climate near your home and the location of your home. The time taken by the insulation is almost one or two weeks.

After completing the insulation in your home, you need to complete the other whole structure. When you complete the home, you have to walk through the entire property to ensure that the home is constructed according to your design.
