Everyone has a vision of where they want to be in the future. However, you can plan all you want, but you won’t necessarily get there because things don’t always go to plan. Such is life. Born at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, Eric was born to a military family. His father worked as a Clinical and Neuropsychologist in the Air Force, a profession he continued even after retiring from military service. His upbringing in a military family meant moving from base to base during his adolescent years. In addition, he also suffered numerous health issues during this period, including Leukemia. However, his story didn’t end there because he was always focused on the bigger picture. He knew he had to overcome these obstacles and struggles to reach his final destination.
In addition to being an award-winning, international best-selling author, Eric Ranks also wears many other hats. Not only is he a motivational public speaker, corporate consultant, but also a serial entrepreneur who has started multiple organizations. Moreover, he’s the CEO of a multiple award-winning spirits brand and a renowned philanthropist.
For instance, this dynamic personality started The Veterans Connection™ in 2012. The non-profit organization initially focused on helping veterans access their entitled benefits. However, he was disheartened by the complexities of the process that often prompted veterans to give up before they received the required support. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic heightened his awareness of the rising suicide rates among veterans and first responders. As a result, he refocused The Veterans Connection™ to focus on mental health and suicide prevention for these groups.
Eric’s journey over the years has been an interesting one to follow. For instance, he always dreamed of authoring books. However, he often sidelined writing because he wrestled with self-doubt instigated by dyslexia. The pandemic, however, brought a unique opportunity when a friend proposed co-authoring a self-help and motivational book. With shared responsibilities and a clear writing framework, he found the push to embrace his dream finally.
The book’s completion shattered his self-imposed boundaries and ignited a spark of self-belief. This newfound confidence skyrocketed when his second co-authored book became an international best-seller, found a revered place in the Library of Congress, 2023 International Holistic Business Award Winner, Earned nearly 120 International Achievements, and was even adopted as part of the curriculum in several schools.
All of this fueled his decision to accept another co-writing project eagerly, and now, he’s on an exciting journey to release another collaborative book next year. Most thrillingly, he has also started plotting his first solo book. His journey is a powerful testament that dreams can become reality with courage and support.
Eric believes this success wouldn’t be possible without the right mindset. Now that he has fulfilled some of his lifelong ambitions, he’s setting his sights on the future. “In envisioning my future, I picture myself appearing on prominent national television programs, significantly increasing my public speaking appearances, and earning the title of a 2-time International Best Selling Author,” he revealed. “It’s a particular ambition of mine to have my works recognized on notable best-seller lists like The New York Times, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, or Barnes & Noble. Within the next year, I anticipate 22 Salute’s products will be widely available nationwide in numerous major retailers. Concurrently, I foresee our non-profit successfully matching 50 service dogs with veterans, launching our innovative grief and mental health app, and guiding ten veteran families through our transformative ‘Survive to Thrive’ program,” concluded Eric Ranks.
